Sole Support Orthotics

solesupports1Why Do you want Sole Support orthotics?

“Sole Supports are the only custom orthotics available today based on a completely new paradigm (MASS position) that was developed to actually change foot posture and function during weight-bearing activities.”(Sole Support website:  www.solesupports.com/VISITORHOME.aspx)

What this means is that the orthotic recreates the way your foot moves as you walk. Sole Supports change the heel strike, align the ankle bones, align the arch and toe bones, in such a way as to create a far more ideal movement through space.

Common problems helped by Sole Supports include:

  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Hammer Toes
  • Foot and Ankle  Pain
  • Hip and Low Back Pain

As well as relieving pain, athletes have found that Sole Supports give them more power. When joints are misaligned, muscle has to hold the joints together. If the joints are aligned, then muscle is freed up for power.

I have had foot problems for years and have had many many different types of orthotics. I ended up with tight and strained leg and lower back muscles, plantar fasciitis in my right foot, hammer toes, you name it. As a last resort and with little faith, I got fitted by Sabina Gutsell. I was EXTREMELY skeptical when I started wearing them. However, that first evening, to my dumbfounded surprise, I realized that my legs and lower back felt more relaxed than they had in a long time. Walking (legs, lower back) was more enjoyable. It took awhile for my feet (and possibly other parts of my body and mind) to realize that things had changed. Taking a couple of hikes, which I hadn’t done in years, over especially rocky terrain really seemed to work all my foot and ankle muscles hard and kind of, well, get the feet more active and aligned. I realized that the feet have lots of muscles that need to be exercised. I am excited about seeing and feeling where these orthotics will take me in the future!”

I am a trained Sole Support Orthotics provider.

Here is my story:

I decided to try Sole Supports because a friend, who is an athletic trainer, told me that she loved her orthotics. I had occasional arch pain, and decided to give these orthotics a try. After I had been wearing my Sole Support Orthotic for about three months: my knock knees straightened out; I gained full spinal flexion; and my knees stopped cracking every time I stood up.

Sole supports are unique from other orthotics in that they are individually calibrated to your feet. What that means is that each hand made orthotic is created to your weight and use specifications. They are designed to account for the flexibility, or rigidity, of each foot.  In myself, and my clients, I have noted that Sole Supports align the posture of the hips, knees and feet.

A custom casting will be made of each foot and sent to the Sole Supports medical-grade orthotics facility for fabrication.
